Picture this---not

After a few hours on Sunday of trying to post pictures on this blog I have
decided picture showing is not in the future for this blogger. We have an
older computer but I don't know if that is the problem but I am going to be
picture less for a while. It was very disappointing but I will blog on for
now.
Today has been a blah day although I can't say why. I have turned the heel
on my second classic sock, worked some on my lacy shawl and finished a
mystery novel I was reading. My plan as of last night was to go out this
morning to clean the flower beds but upon checking the temperature and the
wind gave up that idea. Tuesday and Wednesday would have been ideal but I
had my two knitting groups to attend and a quilt shop to visit for my first
block of the month.
At my Tuesday knitting group the "knutty Knitters" we had a lively
discussion about the right way to do the heel flap as to the purl stitch.
Three of us do it one way and two do it another way. It looks the same so
we each will keep to our own way of doing it as the results are the same.
Eileen brought a shawl she was working on called the candlestick pattern?
With the yarn she chose it looked just like the feathers of a peacock. What
a beauty.
I didn't get much done on Wednesday as I was helping Mary review the
crochet stitches for a granny afghan.
I got my first block of the month and I'm liking the sampler patterns but
finding a background fabric for the blocks so the florals can jump out is
proving to be a little difficult. But I need to persevere as the block is
due on the 25th of April, completed so I can get the next one free of
charge. My type of quilt.
Have a good day everyone.

spring is here?

It's a beautiful day today with the sun shining and the sky a gorgeous blue.
Joe and I did our mall walk and now I am back to get my day started. Went
outside for a few minutes and de weeded the flower boxes. Did you ever
notice that weeds grow even when and where nothing else does? Why is that?
I have a few things on the knitting needles and a few things under the
sewing needle. I need to finish the baby quilt, and the bibs. I am also
making a wall hanging for said baby.
On the knitting needles I have sock #2 in the burgundy, a drop stitch shawl
and a washcloth for the mundane knitting. When I get camera savvy I will do
pictures.
On knitters review someone gave a pattern for a mini pin by knitting a small
swatch splitting it between 2 tooth picks adding a bead to each toothpick
and putting a pin on the back. Soooooo that will be my next mini project.
On my way home from my volunteer job I stopped at Joannes to pick up the pin
backs and beads so I am set to go.
At knitting on Tuesday I got the revised edition of the croc socks to do on
3 needles so after I finish the one now I am going to attempt to do those
with a pattern. Wish me luck.
My Tuesday group " The Knutty Knitters" is a serious group meaning we do
knit, go on knitting adventures, exchange patterns but mostly enjoy each
other's company. We have been together for 3 years and there is no sign of
disbanding.
My Wednesday group , no name, on the other hand has only 2 serious members.
Me and Bridie. We are the only two who really knit at the meeting. The
others, gab, all at one time I might add, and enjoy their wine. I'm
surprised they let me in as I am the only non- Catholic, non-Irish,
non-drinking youngest member of them. I have been in this group for about a
year and enjoy it as well. So you can see I belong to 2 very diverse
knitting groups and love them both. I am lucky.
I hope I haven't bored anyone. Believe it or not I am funnier in person
when there is interaction going on.
So everyone have a good day and I will write again soon.
where did I go wrong? I know. Too large a needle or too small a needle.
But I love'em anyway.

This is my first foray into blog land so bear with me. Wasn't Fridays stormincredible. The wind , the snow, the cold. Yesterday we woke to ice iceand more ice. I stayed in to turn a heel, decorate for Easter and start ashawl in a periwinkle whispery yarn.I heard from jared yesterday and he got a gold belt in karate and a medalfor the best in the class. Now my daughter in law said if he could just bequiet in school all would be well. The baby hasn't arrived yet and I thinkshe is waiting until she is due April 1st. My first note

Hi! This is my first time blogging, thanks to my son-in-law. I am working on a Christmas quilt which was a block of the month and finished the blocks in Oct. Only getting to the inset triangles now. Its kind of a dreary day here in the northeast so quilting, knitting or doing redwork is the way to go. I am working on various projects hoping to get some of them finished before I start a new one. hahaha. Well, time for me to go to the eye man so I will write again soon.
